Graving Dock
Shipbuilding / Repair / Refit
This 1200’ x 200’ graving dock is one of the largest on the US East Coast, capable of dry-docking large vessels like tankers and cruise ships. The dock is serviced by two 200-ton Clyde cranes capable of handling extensive repair and refit projects as well as routine dry-docking. With a draft of approximately 28’ , the dock is capable of handling many types of vessels; and for vessels with deeper drafts, the basin can be super-flooded to accommodate slightly deeper drafts. In addition to its size, the dock is also extremely versatile. With its multi-position mid-gate, several projects with non-concurrent schedules may take place simultaneously. Wet and dry operations can occur simultaneously. This facility is available for use by your preferred ship repair provider or we can provide referrals to local vendors that may be able to meet your ship repair and refit needs.
CARGO OPERATIONS
Handling of Heavy lift. Bulk. Break-bulk and Ro-Ro Cargoes
This area of the facility can also be utilized as a wet berth for handling cargo with large-capacity cranes and generous space around the basin that are perfectly suited for heavy lift operations as well as bulk, break-bulk and ro-ro cargo operations. Complimentary facilities such as warehouses, and paved and unpaved lay-down areas offer a myriad of opportunities for different cargo mixes to be stored, processed and handled efficiently. The location and infrastructure of the facility is also well suited for this cargo to move expeditiously to or from its destination via easy truck access to I-695 / 95, rail service with a quick link to the mid-west, or be transhipped via another waterborne transportation mode.
